We Provide Two Modernization Options:

  1. Modernize just the database layer (database access) and leave the application as it is. As an example: a customer can migrate IDMS, IMS, VSAM, ADABAS, etc. databases to a relational database (DB2, Oracle, etc.) and if the application is in COBOL code then it will still be in COBOL code when the database migration is completed.
  2. Migration of the database and the applications to a new or existing platform. As an example, migrate IDMS, IMS, VSAM, ADABA, etc. to a relational database (DB2, Oracle, etc.) and migrate the application with COBOL code completely to Java code (J2EE).

It’s important to note that there is no dependency to additional runtime or emulation software required. This modernization is fully transparent to the application.

IBM’s WebSphere Implementation

With our tools, we can implement WebSphere into a DB2 environment, in a highly automated fashion. The DB2 database and the application code remain unchanged.
